My name is Amanda – welcome to my world of dolls! I started making dolls after my third daughter was born in 2003. Lord knows I had “nothing” to do! I always liked the primitive look but couldn’t always afford all the dollys I wanted. So, after a small push from my husband I bought my first pattern and whipped up some dolls. Soon after, I showed them to Susie and the rest is history! Along with buying some patterns I also started designing my own dolls in 2005. To my surprise they were a hit. The satisfaction and self worth I receive from the feedback on my craft is more than words can say. Thank you!

Amanda Annie

Amanda Annie is the first doll I designed. She’s one of my favorites, too! This little gal is approximately 12” tall. She’s made from heavily stained and aged muslin. Her cute little face has snap eyes, stitched nose, mouth and eyelashes. Amanda’s hair is only the finest handspun wool in “primitive red”. The shoes and stockings are hand painted and aged. The little dress is made of a red check homespun with an osnaburg apron and muslin bloomers. The button is Mother-Of-Pearl left by my Yia-Yia. If you like Amanda Annie come on down to Susie’s!

Liberty Leanne

I am pleased to introduce a very patriotic dolly named Liberty Leanne. She’s approximately 16 ½” tall and is wearing a dark blue with white stars and red accents dress. Her bloomers are heavily stained muslin and aged red ticking. Leanne is made of stained muslin and has blonde roving wool hair. Her mouth is hand sculpted and painted. She has sparkling blue eyes that are hand painted and a sculpted nose. Leanne comes with an old quilt square that I whipped stitched the edge in red and hand stitched “USA” on the star. If you like this little lady for the 4th of July or any time, Susie’s is the place to go!

Candy Cane Kate

Candy Cane Kate is a sweet girl all ready for Christmas! Kate is approximately 16” tall. She is made of heavily stained and aged muslin. Her stockings are hand painted along with her long nose. Kate has black snap eyes and hand stitched lashes and mouth. Her hair is fox red roving wool. Kate is wearing a dark green and brown homespun check dress. The little bloomers are muslin. Kate is holding a heavily stained red ticking, German Glass glittered Candy Cane. She is waiting at Susie’s for a good home!

Hexie Hag

Hexie Hag was lots of fun to design I love her “wormy” fingers and curled toe boots! Hexie is approximately 26” tall including her 6” hat She is wearing an aged black cotton cape and bloomers. Her dress is black cotton with an orange check homespun for the top. Hexie has a rusty star button on her dress and on the side of each boot. Hexie herself is made from heavily stained, aged and painted muslin. Her eyes are hand painted along with a hand sculpted nose and mouth. Hexie even has a wart at the end of her nose! Poor gal! Her black cotton hat allows some of her natural brown sheep’s wool hair to peek out! Last, Hexie’s boots have been given a special “glaze” for a leathery look.
